Mograni Devons wins 1st Grand Champion Bull award at a Royal Show. Mograni Colorado C17 has the honour of been the 1st Mograni breed bull to claim a Royal Grand Champion Bull award after winning senior and grand champion  bullat the 2010 Brisbane Royal Show.

Mograni also claimed the junior champion bull and reserve champion cow or heifer, after 3 consecutive 2nds, Colorado, Donotello and Kay teamed up to win the breeders group to top a great show for the stud.

Mograni Devons has entered a team of 5 for the 2010 Brisbane Royal Show "EKKA"

Mograni Devons exhibited 4 head at Sydney Royal winning 5 ribbons plus the best maintained team 2 to 5 head.

Although not winning any major awards Mograni progeny continues to improve with Belmur Valley siring the 2nd placed sires progeny team for the second year in succession.

Barnstaple Kismet 93 has been added to the studs AI programme, semen will be used accross a group of select  females.

At the Barnstaple disperal, Mograni Devons purchased 3 females to be added to the studs breeding programme, all 3 were PTIC with calves at foot.

Mograni Donotello an outstading young sire prospect has been sold to Bruce & Maryanne Paynter. Mograni Devons will retain an interest, and will work in partnership with Bruce & Maryanne.

In an outstanding showing of Devon cattle at the 2010 Gloucester feature show, 7 studs paraded cattle before judge Greg Wright from Ben Oak Devons, Glen Innes. Mograni Devons were the most successful exhibiter. Broad ribbons were shared accross 4 different studs with Mograni claiming the Junior Champion bull ribbon with Mograni Donotello.

For those interested in Jessica's progress in music, she is now living in Sydney and has joined the Australian Institute of Music. A 2 year course which we all hope will lead to a successful career in music.

After winning Best exhibit at the Devon Feature Show Mograni Lilly B16 went on to claim the Supreme Beef exhibit of the 2009 Kempsey Show and the first interbreed title for Mograni Devons. Mograni Lilly a 29 month old cow with a 9 week old calf at foot is the progeny of Barnstaple Polyanthus 5 who has won the best exhibit at Sydney on 2 occassions.

The Devon Feature show which attracted almost 30 entries was a great showcase for the breed and would have been the biggest exhibition of Devon cattle on the coast for some time.

Mograni Devons had one of it's best shows in the history of the stud, winning 3 of the 4 broad ribbons on offer. All 3 (senior champion female, junior champion bull and junior champion female) were by the same sire (Belmur Valley y41). The stud also won the interbreed sires progeny (Belmur Valley) and interbreed cow and calf

In a strong showing of Devon cattle at this years Sydney Royal Show with good numbers in each class, Mograni Devons claimed 2nd place with Mograni Lilly B16 in the 24 to 30 month class, 3rd with Mograni Benji in the 24 to 30 month bull class and 2nd in the sires progeny (Belmur Valley Y41) from 5 entries in an impressive line up of progeny.

Mograni also won the best maintained team.

Jessica has added the Manning River Summer Festival Talent Quest to her list of acheivements, in a field of very talented singers and entertainers Jessica received huge praise from the judges following her performances during the grand final at Club Taree.

Mograni Devons has entered a team of 5 for the 2009 Royal Easter Show. Prior to Sydney we will exhibit at Gloucester Show and the week following Sydney we will travel to Kempsey for the Devon Feature Show.

Around 100 local and International guests along with interested cattle breeders visited Mograni Devons during their open day, as part of the Devon World Conference Tour. Guests were entertained with presentations from each of the studs with cattle on display followed by John Hannaford speaking on  the local area. On display was a selection of cattle both stud and commercial. Mograni used the opportunity to display both current show teams as well as members of prior show teams, along with cattle from their commercial operation. Little Manning, Palinga and Kippax Devons all helped to provide an exellent line of Devons for the party to appraise.

Belmur Clay B23  a 27 month old, 918kg son of Belmur Basalt is the latest addition to the Mograni breeding programe. Clay was purchased for $6000 at the Barnstaple Australian Bull Sale during the 2008 Devon World Conference Tour.

Mograni Devons is looking foward to hosting the World Devon Conference on Sunday the 21st of September 2008.

Cattle will be on display including members of the Mograni Show Team both current and past. As well breeding females, stud sires, young females, potential Stud Sires and sale bulls.

The day will commence at 9am when the tour party arrives, this will be followed a presentation from the Studs involved. Mograni Devons will be joined by Little Manning Devons, Palinga Devons and Kippax Devons. John Hannaford will the give a presentation on land usage in the Gloucester District, following morning tea the party will inspect the cattle. Lunch will be at 12 midday and the touring party will depart for Goulburn around 1.30pm.

Persons outside the touring are welcome to attend although there will a small charge of $10 to cover morning tea and Lunch.

After winning Grand Champion Female in Sydney earlier in the year, Snowbell 10 followed up with another broad ribbon in Brisbane claiming the Reserve Champion Devon Female award, this will be Snowbells last showring appearance after winning a number broad ribbons at both Royal and Country shows. Including Reserve Junior Champion Female RAS 2006 as a 13 month old heifer, Reserve Champion female in Brisbane twice 2007 & 2008 plus Grand Champion Female RAS 2008. Mograni Benji and Mograni Crusader in his first show outing finished 3rd and 2nd in their respective classes. Devons were well represented at this years EKKA with a great representation of the breed.

Mograni also exhibited a Devon steer at the EKKA although not placing on hoof, he placed near the top of the class on the hook. A great deal was learnt and will be better for the experience in 2009.

Mograni Devons has entered a team of 4 for the 2008 "Ekka" Brisbane show. This year we have also entered a steer in the led steer competition.

In May another Barnstaple female was added to the Mograni herd, Barnstaple Plum was selected from a good line  of devon females at the Barnstaple autum female sale.

Mograni Devons enjoyed another successful outing at the 2008 Royal Easter Show. Winning Grand Champion Female for the 2nd year in succession. Barnstaple Snowbell 10 a three old cow with a 6  week old heifer calf (her 2nd calf) at foot by Belmur Valley placed 1st in the senior cow class before going on to claim the Senior Champion and Grand Champion ribbons. Snowbell was awarded  reserve Junior at the 2006 RAS as a 13 month old heifer and Reserve Champion female at the EKKA in 2007 . Mograni Benji B18 was placed 2nd in the 16 to 20 month junior bull class behind the evential junior champion bull.

The Wingham Devon Feature Show attracted 8 exhibitors, with the Devons having the largest number of cattle accross all breeds. Great to see a good display of cattle on the coast again. The four broad ribbons on offer were won by four different exhibitors, which further highlights the quality of cattle that were on display.

Mograni received its best rain in 20 years when 119mm fell over the valley from the 19th to 21st, which should now see a great start to the spring. With a promising forecast for the coming months we can now be optimistic about the seasons ahead.

Mograni Devons entered a team of 3 head for the 2007 Ekka and again enjoyed a successful show, with Barnstaple Snowbell 10, with a 4 month old heifer calf at foot by Wallaton Conceirge, claiming the reserve champion female sash.

Mograni Polyanthus A08 (20 months) was placed 3rd in the 20 to 48 months class behind 2 cow and calf units including Snowbell 10.

Manbell Maxwell (626 kgs, 7/5 scan) placed 2nd in the 16 to 20 months junior bull class.
